Can I skate on these tiles?
No. Extreme Hockey Flooring Tiles are made for shooting, passing and stickhandling, not for skating. For skating you need synthetic ice.
Can they stay outside all year?
Yes. The tiles handle rain, snow and sun, so you can leave your rink set up through a Canadian winter and train in any weather.
Can I lay them straight on grass?
Yes. Even if the ground is a little uneven the click system holds the surface together. For the best result, pick a reasonably flat patch and cut the grass short first.
How many tiles do I need?
Use the tile calculator above. Enter the width and length of your space and it works out exactly how many tiles you need and which pack is the best value.
Do I need glue or a special subfloor?
No. The tiles click together by hand and sit steady straight on the ground. Nothing is glued down, so you can take the rink apart and move it whenever you like.
How big is each tile?
18.5 x 18.5 inches, which is larger than most tiles on the market. Fewer seams, a faster build and a smoother surface to shoot on.
What is the difference compared to synthetic ice?
These tiles give you similar glide for shooting and stickhandling at a fraction of the price, and they are far easier to install and take up again. Synthetic ice is what you want if you need to skate.
Can I add more tiles later?
Yes. Every pack uses the same click system, so you can expand your surface whenever you want and the new tiles will fit the ones you already have.
How do I clean them?
Sweep them regularly to keep dirt and grit off the surface. If they need more, rinse with water and let them dry. Keeping them clean keeps the glide fast.
